Alcobendas Spain

Alcobendas is a city in the Community of Madrid in central Spain, located about 13 kilometers (8 miles) north of Madrid and 7 kilometers (4 miles) from Barajas International Airport. It includes a central urban area, a newer district called Valdelasfuentes, the residential areas of La Moraleja and El Soto de la Moraleja, the Valdelatas nature reserve, and a light industrial zone. A large business park called Valdelacasa for high-tech companies is under development. Alcobendas is also home to a basketball museum run by the Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation, which houses the FIBA Hall of Fame. Historically a working-class area, it has become one of the more socially and economically affluent parts of the Madrid metropolitan area and includes the upscale neighborhood of La Moraleja.
